Germany is against changes of the OSCE MG format

Germany is for the current format of the OSCE Minsk Group for Nagorno Karabakh issue settlement and does not see any necessity to change the mediators. Cornelia Pieper, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany announced today during the press-conference in Yerevan today.

C. Pieper spoke about the OSCE MG as the correspondent of REGNUM news agency asked her to comment on the decision by the European Council about the necessity EU more involvement in the conflict.

Note that on February 27 EC accepted decision according which EC is troubled with the slow progress in Nagorno Karabakh issue settlement.

EC also expressed troubles concerning the strained situation on the border between the Armenian and Azerbaijani troops.

“EC is ready to support in future as well steps to establish confidence between the conflicting sides”, the announcement said and offered to work out a program with OSCE MG to settle the NK issue.
