Russian Federation plans to hold military exercises “Caucasus 2012” and these exercises cause atmosphere of fear not only in Georgia but also in the whole region. As “Rustavi-2” TV channel informs Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Grigol Vashadze announced about this in Brussels on April 19.  

“Russia disturbs the stability and security of the whole South Caucasus”, Vashadze noted. According to him “occupied lands of Georgia and the South Caucasus and the existence of the Russian 102nd military base in Gyumri” confirm it. According to Vashadze “not only Georgia is troubled by the military exercises”.

Georgian MFA considers that the “military exercises aim to occupy all three countries of the South Caucasus and to take their independence”.
