French President N. Sarkozy commemorates Armenian Genocide

President of the French Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy, will commemorate Tuesday, April 24, the 97th anniversary of the Armenian genocide in Paris. French-Armenian journalist Jean Eckian informs about this from Paris.
He will speak at 7:00 PM in front statue of Komitas, at Yerevan Garden. He will put deposit a sheaf of flowers in the name of France, accompanied by Republican guard.
This is the first time in France that a Presidentwill participate, in the capacity, to the ceremonies commemorating the 1915 genocide.
Remind that on the end of last year and on teh beginning of 2012 the bill on criminalization of Armenian Genocide denial was actually discussed in France, but it was denied by the Constitutional Council and was not accepted.
