“The shop is closed for the memory of Armenian Genocide victims, 1915”: Armenian Genocide victims were remembered all over the world

The commemorations of Armenian Genocide victims took place in various sides of the world. On April 24 a range of events dedicated to the memory of victims of Armenian Genocide took place in Aleppo. Events were organized by the various Armenian organizations in and three Armenian communities in Syria.

Armenians in Aleppo put notes on the shops since the evening of April 23. They wrote on the shops: “The shop is closed for the memory of Armenian Genocide victims, 1915”. This was the first time when the whole Armenians in Syria expressed their act of protest together. 

Exhibition named “Relics from the Motherland” was also organized in frame of the events.

Armenian Genocide victims were also commemorated in Batumi. Events named “Remembering the genocide” were continued also on April 23. 

On April 24 Armenian Ambassador to Bulgaria Arsen Shoyan, staff of teh Armenian Embassy in Bulgaria and the representatives of Armenian Community and diocese in Bulgaria held a rally with the posters which condemn Armenian Genocide. The presents also enlightened candles.

Commemorations of Armenian Genocide victims took place also in Cairo. The events started at the evening, April 24. Armenian Ambassador to Egypt Armen Melqonyan, staff of the Embassy, representatives of the Armenian Community attended the event.

Film “Larks’ farm” was shown in frame of the program.

On April 24 a concert dedicated to the 97th anniversary of Armenian Genocide victims was organized in Vilnius Congress concert hall by the Armenian Embassy in Lithuania and with assistance of Armenian Ministry of Culture.  

Armenian Ambassador to Lithuania Ara Ayvazyan delivered a speech during the evening.
