German deputy refused to visit Azerbaijan and called on to boycott “Eurovision 2012”

Christopher Schtrasser PACE reporter on Azerbaijani human rights issues called on in his Facebook blog to boycott “Eurovision 2012” song contest which will take place on May 22 in Baku. Haqqin.az news web-site informs about this.

“German deputy called on not to be indifferent towards the human rights violations in Azerbaijan. But the co-reporter would better be engaged in his own responsibilities and study the issue of political prisoners in the state”, Azerbaijani web-site writes.

According to the same source the German deputy refused to visit Azerbaijan and explained his step with the Baku decision according which it refused to discuss the issue of political prisoners in the EP.

According to Azerbaijani “Azadlig” newspaper Azerbaijani Parliament strictly condemned the announcement by German deputy and offended him.
