Ph. Lefort and S. Sargsyan discussed Armenia-EU cooperation

On May 31 Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan hosted Phillip Lefort, EU special representative to the South Caucasus and Georgian Crisis. Press service of Armenian President informs about this.

Both sides noted with pleasure that Armenia-EU relations have developed during the last years. The sides rated high level political dialogue between Armenia and the EU and the bilateral visits. European Council Chairman Herman Van Rompo will visit Armenia soon and this visit was rated in this context. Armenia-EU cooperation and some further plans are on agenda for this visit. Armenian President and EU official also spoke about the reforms which are held in Armenia with EU assistance.  

Ph. Lefort also used the meeting to congratulate Armenian President on the successful elections which were held in Armenia on May 6 and wished success to the newly-elected Parliament.

Ph. Lefort noted that EU has great interest in Armenian and in South Caucasian developments in general.
