H. Clinton is in Armenia: she participated in the awarding ceremony at the US Embassy in Armenia

US State Secretary is already inArmenia. She was met at the “Zvartnots” airport by Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandyan andUSAmbassador to Armenia John Heffern.

H. Clinton participated in the awarding ceremony at US Embassy inArmeniawhich was organized by the US Embassy inArmenia, “Counterpart International” organization, Great British Embassy inArmenia, OSCE and EU offices. State Secretary welcomed the event participants and had separate meetings with the people who were awarded.

Armenian officials, foreign diplomats, representatives of mass media and NGOs attended the event.

Arthur Saqunts was awarded with “Protector of the freedom” award and Tsovinar Nazaryan was awarded with “Courage woman” award.

General-Mayor, deputy chief policeman of Armenia Arthur Osikyan and editors of epress.am web-site also were awarded.

 Ecologist-activists Apres Zohrabyan, Eghia Nersisyan, Gor Hakobyan, Mari Khachatryan and Ruzanna Grigoryan were awarded by EU office for the ecological propaganda inArmenia.

As it was already informedthe US State Secretary Hilary Clinton is travelling to theCaucasusfrom June 4 to 7.

InArmeniathe Secretary will meet with President Sargsyan and other senior Armenian officials here. She will also meet with Armenian civil society leaders.

On June 5, the Secretary will open the U.S.-Georgia Strategic Partnership Commission plenary session inBatumi,Georgia. She will meet also with President Saakashvili and hold discussions with a broad range of political actors and civil society representatives.

The Secretary will travel on June 6 toAzerbaijanto meet with President Aliyev as well as Azerbaijani civil society leaders.

On June 7, the Secretary will co-chair the Global Counter terrorism Forum Ministerial inIstanbul,Turkeyand consult with senior Turkish officials on a range of foreign policy challenges, includingSyriaandIran.
