S. Sargsyan is in Japan: he met residents of Sendai city

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visit Japan with an official visit today, press service of Armenian President informs about this.

President was in Sendai city and visited “Yuriage Hiyoriyama” memorial complex, commemorated memory of the victims of strong earthquake and tsunami in 2011. S. Sargsyan got acquainted with the works to overcome the consequences of the tragedy and then visited temporary shelters of the people who suffered.

Armenian President welcomed the residents of Sendai who suffered the terrible accident and announced them about Armenian nations’ sympathy. S. Sargsyan underlined that Armenia was shook by the news about earthquake in Japan and Armenians followed all news and prayed for the Japanese nation.

Yerevan Saint Gregory Illuminator Church served a holy mass for Japan. Thousands believers joined the mass and prayed for the memory of perished people.

We realize the whole weight of the nature’s tragedy. You have lost many relatives and close people and I bend in front of their memory”, said President Sargsyan.

He noted that thankful Armenian nation will never forget about the Japanese assistance which they showed in 1988 when Armenia suffered a terrible earthquake.

S. Sargsyan ensured that Japanese will overcome this difficulty as well as they did during their long history.

“Japanese nation will become stronger after this experiment. I wish all of you to have their own apartment and I wish you to live in peace and welfare”, S. Sargsyan said.

Then Mr. President left Sendai for Tokyo where he will have meetings with high-level officials tomorrow, on June 6.
