Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says Iran is going to set forth a new proposal to the ongoing global economic crisis.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran in the upcoming SCO Summit in China will offer a new proposal on present global developments and economic crisis,” said Mahmud Ahmadinejad, IRNA informs.
Ahmadinejad will participate in the 12th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit from June 6-7.
Commenting on the SCO, Ahmadinejad said Iran has had extensive cooperation with the SCO members. “Over the past seven years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been actively participating in all SCO meetings, except one.”
He said he is to visit China to attend the summit and confer with Chinese officials on ways of expanding mutual ties and cooperation.
The SCO is an intergovernmental international organization established in June 2001 by Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Observer states include India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan, while its dialogue partners include Belarus and Sri Lanka.
