On June 24 delegation led by the Minister of Defense of Lithuania Mrs. Rasa Yuknevichien visited Armenia with two-day official visit. Press service of Armenian Ministry of Defense informs about this.

After the welcoming ceremony in Armenian Ministry of Defense the delegation of Lithuanian Ministry of Defense met with Armenian DM Seyran Ohanyan and with the leadership of chief staff.

During the meeting the sides discussed issues of bilateral interest and referred to the Armenian-Lithuanian cooperation in defense sphere. While discussing Nagorno-Karabakh issue settlement Lithuanian side underlined it was for the peace settlement of the issue.
Both Ministers of Defense signed an agreement “About the cooperation between Armenian Ministery of Defense and Lithuanian Ministry of Defense”. The agreement intends to clarify cooperation in various spheres concerning defense sphere.

In frame of the visit Lithuanian Minister of Defense visited military institute after V. Sargsyan and attended the military duty. Mrs. Minister also watched the presentation of peacekeeping mission details and the forces of special meaning.

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II will host Mrs. Minister in frame of her visit as well.
