Azerbaijan returns the body of Karen Petrosyan

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has issued a statement on the return of the body of the Armenian citizen Karen Petrosyan who was killed in Azerbaijan.
The body of an Armenian citizen who lost his way in Tavoush region, appeared in Azerbaijani territory and was killed there in August 2014 was repatriated today and handed over to representatives of the Armenian authorities in an operation facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The handover took place on the road between the Azerbaijani town of Gazakh and the Armenian town of Ijevan, at the international border, the ICRC Baku Office informed Azerbaijani media.
On the basis of its mandate under the Geneva Conventions, the ICRC has been working in the region since 1992 in connection with the Nagorny Karabakh conflict. In its capacity as a neutral intermediary, the organization has repeatedly helped the authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan make arrangements for the repatriation of human remains.
