Today the next session of Armenian Government took place, which was led by Armenian deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan.

As the press service of Armenian Government informs various decisions were accepted during the session. The law draft about making changes in the “Family codex of the Republic of Armenia” is confirmed.

According to the source the changes in the codex is connected with the necessity to provide gender equality between men and women. Women have right to get married at the age of 17 according to the current law and the men have right to get married at the age of 18. According to the offered changes both men and women will have right to get married at the same age.

The draft will be presented to the Armenian National Assembly.
