Under the mandate of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, monitoring on the border between Armenian and Azerbaijani troops was held today, on July 25.

The monitoring passed in Tavush region, near Aygepar village from Armenian side.

Field assistants of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Anthal Herdic and Jiri Aberle conducted monitoring on the Armenian side of the border.

Field assistant of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Hristo Hristov and personal assistant William Pryor conducted monitoring on opposite side.

As Armenpress.am informs the monitoring lasted for 6 minutes and the distance between them was 300 meters.
According to the source Anthal Herdic and Jiri Aberle had a meeting with the leaders of the communities in Aygepar, Nerqin karmiraghbyur and Movses. The leaders of the communities presented the situation in their communities, spoke about the ceasefire regime violations and some other issues.

Head of the Nerqin Karmirahbyur community Manvel Kamendatyan noted that there were many problems in the border villages as the peace population is on the first line under fire. Especially during the last year the enemy especially shoots at the peace population and it causes deaths.

Head of the Movses community Lyudvig Aperyan asked the representatives of the international organization to pay attention on the fact that there is no day without firing.

“People are unable even to work in the fields because of the fears. There is no guarantee that the enemy will not shoot on them. We need confidence for the work”.

Head of Aygepar community Andranik Aydinyan underlined that the shoots have become more intensive recently. “People are not safe even in their houses, the windows are closed with stones as we are afraid that the bladders can enter inside”, Aydinyan said.

The governor underlined that Armenian nation wants only peace and reminded that “this is their historic land and they will never leave it”.
