Raffi Hovhannisyan had meetings in Lori region

Raffi K. Hovannisian campaigned today from Noyemberyan to the Lori region, making stops in Koghb, Berdavan, Haghtanak, Ayrum station, Akhtala, Alaverdi, Odzun, Mghard, Koghes, Yaghdan, Agarak, Loriberd, Stepanavan, Tashir, Metsavan, and Spitak on his way to Vanadzor. Hovannisian met with voters at each stop, presenting his platform and answering questions, and above stressing that nobody should succumb to fear. “I have no doubt that this time the people will win—we only have to believe, vote, and together take our destiny into our hands,” Hovannisian said.

Later Hovannisian held a large event in the city of Vanadzor, where hundreds of supporters packed the Charles Aznavour town hall, chanting “President Raffi!” throughout his speech, in which he stressted the importance of equipping Vanadzor to reach its powerful industrial potential. “Special funding of $100 million will be allocated to rebuild housing and improve public services and amenities in the Disaster Zone,” Hovannisian said.

Raffi Hovannisian also responded to President Sargsyan’s criticism his statement that this election will be a battle of good versus evil. “The era of the three presidents has approached its end. The era of the people, real democracy—and not monarchy—the era of return is arriving. Let us put an end to weddings without fathers and incomplete families. 200,000 people have left the country in just five years! We must reverse this by facilitating well-paying, dignified jobs and high pensions.”

Hovannisian then shot back at Sargsyan’s mockery of his promise to recognize Karabagh. “Do the authorities label the recognition of Artsakh an ‘adventure’? Were the Madrid principles and the unilateral concessions that sold out our compatriots in Baku, Sumgait, and Shahumyan not terrible, dangerous, and cowardly adventures? The recognition of Artsakh and its territorial integrity is our direct responsibility,” Hovannisian stated.

The meeting in Vanadzor concluded with a magnificent concert by the band Reincarnation.

On his way back to Yerevan, Hovannisian visited the heliostation in the town of Spitak, which is the pioneer of a promising heliotechnical industry in Armenia.
