CEC denied Raffi Hovhannisyan’s application

Central Electoral Committee has made a decision to deny the application by candidate for President Raffi Hovhannisyan. The latter claimed to announce the Presidential elections illegal and do not recognize Serzh Sargsyan as the Armenian President. According to Hovhannisyan Sargsyan used the state resources to organize his pre-electoral campaign.

According to the chairman of CEC Tigran Mukuchyan CEC considers that the facts about violations are not enough, Panorama.am informs.

CEC chairman read the appropriate international norms and the articles of Armenian electoral codex and noted that only the candidate could present application about recognizing the elections illegal.
He also underlined that if any obvious violations are registered CEC also could apply to the court.
