R. Hovannisian announces new rally at Liberty Square

On March 4 Raffi Hovannisian’s headquarters submitted documents to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, formally challenging the results of the presidential elections that were organized on February 18, 2013. At a press conference on the same day, the legal team consisting of Karen Mezhlumyan as well as Heritage spokesman Hovsep Khurshudyan asserted that it has finalized a comprehensive case indicting the authorities in a systematic falsification of democracy. Raffi Hovannisian Headquarters writes about this.

“At every stage — pre-election, election, and post-election — the state has spared no tactic in silencing the voice of the Armenian people,” said Khurshudyan. “We have here violations big and small, from vanishing ink to overspending to voter intimidation, from swollen voter lists to ballot stuffing. But more important than that, these violations are systematic. They are the evidence of a major fraud, which deprived the Armenian people of its elected de jure president, Raffi K. Hovannisian.”

The Barevolution continues today. At 2pm Raffi Hovannisian will visit the Yerablur cemetery to honor the memory of Vazgen Sargsyan. Then, at 5pm, he will preside over a national rally at Liberty Square, where major political and civic forces will converge to demand the recognition of the people’s victory.
