Politician: “PACE reporters do not discredit Armenia but the idea of PACE and the idea of the objective monitoring”

“It seems that Europe has its own sultanate, which in all respects does not fit the notion of European values. But in this case due to caviar and the other offerings in the spirit of Oriental despotism, many European officials just do not see all unflattering moments. They just forget at once that human rights are violated in Azerbaijan very obviously”, chairman of the Center for Strategic Research Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan told Times.am.

While commenting on the PACE report on Armenia Melik-Shahnazaryan noted that “in fact, there is a group of European officials who are actively working to create a positive image of Azerbaijan in Europe. These people are seemed to work in Europe, but it turns out that their employers are sitting in Baku”.

“All this would not be so bad – let the Europeans decide themselves whom give salary and whom not. But on another hand, the promotion of the Sultanate of Baku has its another negative side as well. Double standards are beginning to work also against Armenia. A type of European officials appears who considers that everything is just perfect and luxurious in Azerbaijan (thanks to two kilograms of black caviar). But in Armenia it turns out to be really alarming. It turns out that everything is bad just in Armenia.

And accidentally an official appears who has only one thing in her mind: to catch something negative and make a nationwide problem. They apply to the opposition, arrange secret meetings, gain a one-side information and interpret it again by the one side”, the politician noted.

The politician considers that in fact PACE reporters do not discredit Armenia but the idea of PACE the idea of an objective monitoring.

“Here seems to come the time to ask a question about priorities and aims. It is necessary to find out how is it effective to listen to the organization which discredits itself?  And is it necessary to fulfill its recommendations?

Especially since they are based on preconceived and often negative attitude not only to the country, but also to the people living there!

Or is it the usual carelessness and unwillingness to really get deepen into the situation before giving recommendations for the “fabricated” problems? Then the same question about the expediency stands but from a different point of view and other factors.

“You can just launch a master class for the brazen impunity by European functionaries. The key-note of this master class will include a course on legal liquidation of illiteracy, which will be discussed with the monotone seriousness – do not take bribes, do not be biased, do not be one sided as you represent the oldest organization in Europe and you are bound to protect its honor and dignity without changing the ideal weight for caviars and personal preferences!”, H. Melik-Shahnazaryan concluded.
