Chess news: Armenian chess players show good results in various championships

Armenian GMs Artur Gabrielian and Sergey Grigoriants (Russia) have scored 5,5 points each out of 7 at the open in Voronezh. They are only half a point behind the leader – GM Vladimir Fedoseev (Russia). Armchess.am informs about this.

GMs David Arutinian (Georgia), Tigran Kotanjian and Hrair Simonian (Armenia) have scored 3,5 points each out of 4 and are leading at Karen Asrian Memorial that is being held in Jermuk, Armenia.

Participating in another championship held in Teplice, Czech Republic, Armenian GM Krikor Sevag Mekhitarian (Brazil) has scored 4 points out of 4 and is the leader. The same results have GMs Vadim Shishkin, Vladimir Sergeev (Ukraine) and Denes Boros (Hungary) but they are behind the Armenian chess player by the tie-break.
