Chess news: Armenian chess players in various championships

The tournament dedicated to NKR Independence 20th Anniversary that was held in Yerevan is over. IM Karen H. Grigoryan scored 6 points out of 9 and took the first place. Grigor Dilanyan was half a point behind the winner.

Another Armenian GM Gabriel Sargissian took a new victory at the open in Rethymno, Greece. In the 7th round he beat IM Sundar Shyam (India).

After 7 rounds Sargissian continues solely leading with 6,5 points. The nearest rival of the Armenian chess player – GM Yuriy Kryvoruchko (Ukraine) has 6 points.
