Armenian-Canadian various relations were discussed

On February 28 Armenian Ambassador to Canada Armen Yeganyan met with the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada Andrew Shir. Press and information department of the office of RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs about this.

During the meeting the sides discussed in details the inter-parliamentarian cooperation between Armenia and Canada, also referred to the activities of Friendship group.

The sides spoke about the regional issues. On the request of the Canadian official Armenian Ambassador presented the attempt of normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations and also spoke about the last developments of the NK issue settlement negotiations.

In this context Armenian Ambassador asked to pay attention on the fact that Azerbaijan has a destabilizing attitude towards the issue and that is why the negotiating process was slow. Azerbaijani official propaganda spreads hatred towards Armenia among the Azerbaijani population.  

On the end of the meeting Armenian Ambassador thanked Canadian Government for recognizing Armenian Genocide and for principal attitude towards the issue.

 Another meeting and discussion on Armenian-Canadian relations took place in Toronto. The 25th anniversary of the Armenia-Canada Business Council took place and Armenian Ambassador to Canada Armen Yeganyan delivered speech. Parliamentarian secretary of the multicultural issues of the House of the Commons Chungsen Liang also applied to the presents. Nearly 200 businessmen attended the meeting and the further plans of the Canada-Armenia Business Council were discussed. The results of the done works were concluded as well.
