Artsakh Foreign Minister meets great-granddaughter of Henry Morgenthau

On April 28, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Karen Mirzoyan received professor of the Harvard University Dr. Pamela Steiner, the great-granddaughter of a true friend of the Armenian people, the U.S. Ambassador to Constantinople in 1913-1916, Henry Morgenthau. Press service of the Artsakh Foreign Ministry informs about this.

Karen Mirzoyan welcomed the visit to Artsakh of the descendant of Henry Morgenthau who was one of the most prominent American political figures supporting the Armenian people. The NKR Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that the Armenian people highly appreciated the American Ambassador’s efforts aimed at the prevention of Armenian pogroms in the Ottoman Turkey and was grateful to him for his significant contribution to rendering assistance to the Genocide survivors.

During the meeting, the sides emphasized the importance of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide in the context of the universal struggle aimed at the prevention of genocides.

Karen Mirzoyan also briefed on the efforts of the people of Artsakh aimed at building a democratic society and the state-building process in the NKR.
