François Hollande pays tribute to victims of the Armenian Genocide

On April 24, the French President, Francois Hollande, has confirmed his attendance at the commemoration of the 99th anniversary of the Armenian genocide. The President will make a speech to honor the 1.5 million victims of genocide at the monument symbolized by the statue of the Reverend Father Komitas. French-Armenian journalist Jean Eckian informs about this from Paris. 

The presence of the President reaffirms the commitment of the French Republic to the core values of democracy are that the defense of truth and justice.

40 French cities will honor the victims of the genocide in 1915 on the orders of the Ottoman government.

On 19 and 21 April, the French TV (Toute l’Histoire and LCP Public Senat) broadcast documentaries on the reality of the Armenian genocide.

France recognized the Armenian genocide on January 19, 2001.
