On November 5 Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received James Appathurai, the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia. Press and information department of Armenian MFA informs about this.
Welcoming the guest, the Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs highly assessed the results achieved in the sphere of Armenia-NATO cooperation, in this regard stressing the importance of the NATO Week which is traditionally held in Armenia each year.
During the meeting the sides touched upon a number of issues related to the interaction between Armenia and the North Atlantic Alliance, the cooperation in the frameworks of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council and Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) and Armenia’s participation in peacekeeping operations.
The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs presented to the guest the recent developments in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue. In this context the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative reaffirmed the full support of the Alliance to the efforts undertaken by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
