New clashes in Aleppo: armed men opened fire
Armed men have opened fire on a group of protesters in the northwestern Syrian city of Aleppo, Iranian Press TV informs about this.
On Thursday, a number of gunmen fired live ammunition to break up the protest in the al-Marjeh neighborhood of the city, located about 355 kilometers (220 miles) north of Damascus. Iranian source informs about this referring to the Syrian official SANA news agency.
The demonstrators were calling for the insurgents to leave the area.
The Syrian army has inflicted heavy losses on the insurgents over the past few weeks.
Clashes in Syria started since March, 2011 and according to the international organizations thousands of people have been killed as a result of the armed clashes.
The opposition claims that President Bashar al-Assad must resign and Assad claims that the rebels are directed by the Western forces.
