Russia and Iraq are to sign strategic agreement

Russia and Iraq are to sign a strategic agreement on February 11 during the Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin’s official visit to Baghdad, reports “Armenpress” citing the Sputnik agency.

Rogozin has made a 2-day official visit to Iraq where he will have a meeting with the political leadership and will hold the inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation.

The source reported that the Russian delegation consisting of 100 people arrived in Baghdad three days ago and had a number of meetings and talks with Iraqi officials.

“The result of the negotiations is to conclude an agreement on the memorandum of  mutual-understanding.

It will be signed on February 11, at a joint press conference in Baghdad,” the source confirmed.
