Zika virus not threat to Armenia-minister

Armenia is not facing the threat of Zika virus, transmitted through mosquitoes, as they are not specific to the country’s climate.

“It [the virus] is transmitted via mosquitoes, which do not have a natural habitat in Armenia due to the climate conditions,” Armen Muradyan said after the cabinet meeting.

“Only the people leaving in the countries, where mosquitos are present, can get infected,” he added.
