Calls actually addressed to conflicting parties appreciated – Armenia’s defense office
Since April 2, the international community has voiced its concern over the escalation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the press service of Armenia’s Defense Ministry reports.
Specifically, international and regional organizations, as well as individual states, are urging the conflicting parties t sow restraint, put and to hostilities and refrain from steps toward escalation.
Armenia’s ministry of defense highlights the international response and calls addressed to the conflicting parties. The ministry of defense states Armenia is guarantor of Nagorno-Karabakh’s security. At the same time, as a side not involved in the hostilities, arena’s defense office highly appreciates the fact that the calls are addressed to the sides that are actually involved in the hostilities – Azerbaijani and Nagorno-Karabakh authorities.
Supportive of the calls for and to hostilities, Armenia’s defense office is drawing the international community’s attention to the fact that establishing a ceasefire requires specific measures along with political statements: technical conditions for ceasefire, withdrawal of the conflicting forces and ceasefire observation mechanisms.
