Politician: "Turkey will get an offer to join Eurasian Union late or early"

Turkey will get an offer to to become a member of the Eurasian Union early or late. Politician Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan told about this Times.am correspondent.

Commenting on the announcement by Russian deputy Sergey Markov according which Turkey must become a member of the Eurasian Union launched by Vladimir Putin, Melik-Shahnazaryan noted that this was an actual theme in Russian policy. “Eurasian idea supporters consider Turkey is an Eurasian country. Russian-Turkish relations are developed dynamically due to their effort. Moreover they are the Turkish lobbyists in Russia”, politician said.

Turkey is one of the main economical counterparts of Russia and these two countries have warm relations. And this is especially about Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan. So it is obvious that official Moscow and Ankara will try to strengthen cooperation more and more on political and economical spheres”, said the speaker while commenting on Turkish-Russian current relations.

Remind that Russian deputy, member of the party “Yedinaya Russia” (“United Russia”) Sergey Markov informed Turkish “Jihan” news agency that Turkey should join the Eurasian Union. “Turkey is not included in the European Union. We offer Turks to forget about EU and join our Eurasian Union. Mr. Putin has presented the thesis about the Eurasian Union before. Ukraine, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Moldova and some other countries are invited to this union. Turkey also must be at the Eurasian Union”, Russian deputy announced.
