S. Asatryan: “Islamic extremists have deep roots in the Caucasian countries and especially in Azerbaijan”

Today expert on Islam, expert on Arabia Sargis Grigoryan and expert on Azerbaijan Sergis Asatryan met journalists today and spoke about the 11th anniversary of the terrorism which took place on September 11, 2001. They also spoke about the terroristic activities in the region.
S. Grigoryan noted that the Islamic extremist forces are active in our region now and the “Al Qaida” which made the terroristic action on September 11, 2001, is under the USA’s pressure now.
According to the speaker a new generation has appeared among the “Al Qaida” which now has new points of view on making terrorism. According to them now such actions must not be held as because of the terrorism the Islamists lost Afghanistan where the USA entered now.
“Islamists are now very active and try to have deep roots in those countries where the changes take place”, S. Grigoryan said.
S. Grigoryan also underlined that because of the “Arabic spring” there is Islamic awakening in some countries. “Islamic companies were the most organized in “Arabic spring” countries and managed to supervise the “Arabic streets””.
Sargis Asatryan noted in his turn that the Islamic extremists have deep roots in the Caucasian countries and especially in Azerbaijan. Many Azerbaijanis are the members of extremist organizations.
