Iran supports Damascus to find a solution for the unrest situation

The Iranian ambassador to Damascus says Tehran supports any efforts aimed at finding a political solution to the unrest in Syria. Iranian Press TV informs about this.
According to the source Mohammad-Reza Raouf Sheibani made the remark after a Thursday meeting with UN-Arab League special envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi in Damascus.
He said that the Islamic republic of Iran believes that the Syrian unrest could be settled through national dialog between the parties to the conflict and added, “We share the same view in this regard with Kofi Annan and Lakhdar Brahimi, the former and current UN envoys to Syria, and hence Tehran will support Brahimi’s efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis.”
He also criticized certain countries for trying to complicate and prolong the unrest in Syria by sending weapons and arms to insurgents.
Clashes in Syria started since March, 2011. The rebels claim President Bashar al-Assad must resign, the latter refuses and claims that the West leads the rebels in the country.
