Iran will export electricity to Syria and Lebanon

The Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria signed on Thursday a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on export of electricity to Syria and Lebanon as of August 10, IRNA reports.
The agreement was signed by Iran’s Energy Minister Majid Namju and Syrian Minister of Electricity Imad Khamis in Tehran on Thursday.
According to the MoU, Syria will import electricity from Iran through Iraq and transfer it to Lebanon in the second phase.
The two sides also expressed willingness to sign a separate MoU on exchange of visits by their traders and holding of training courses for Syrian engineers in Iran.
