Expert: Armenian Community in Syria must be cautious and keep its neutral role
Today, on August 25, expert on Arab countries Sargis Grigoryan met journalists and spoke about the last developments in Syria. The speaker said that Syrian opposition’s policy was too far from to come true.
“The opposition does not have the measures which are necessary to struggle against the authorities. They do not have measures to struggle against the military air forces and they also did not manage to lead the masses who live in Damascus and Aleppo. The society did not participate in the conflict and it means that it will be very difficult to success”, the expert said.
Sargis Grigoryan considers that the conflict will still last long and new wave of the military actions is expected in autumn. And besides this the opposition is not united and does not have a leader who would present the common aims.
S. Grigoryan also spoke about the warnings by the Syrian opposition towards Armenian community which were further denied. The speaker considers that it was just a provocation and it aimed Armenian Community to involve in the civil war.
“This case also proves that the opposition is not unique. And that is why Armenian Community must be cautious and keep its neutral role”, the expert added.
The speaker also considers that Turkey is involved in this story with announcement.
