IRI Deputy Foreign Minister in Middle East and Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian elaborating Iran's 6 Article Plan for solving Syrian crisis, made an announced about Syria on Wednesday, saying: "This plan ensures peaceful resolving of crisis in Syria".
According to the IRNA correspondent in Moscow, Amir-Abdollahian made the comment in an interview with the state Voice of Russia. "The Islamic Republic of Iran believes the emerged problems in Syria can be solved resorting to diplomatic solutions and on that basis Iran's Six Article Plan for solving the Syrian crisis has been proposed."
"According to this plan the transitional Syrian government must be established and this move must take place in the presence of Bashar al-Assad as the legitimate Syrian President", he added.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister said, "The transitional government would be commissioned to hold elections in Syria and until holding those elections Bashar al-Assad would remain the president of that country."
Amir-Abdollahian reiterated, "The time for holding those elections would be set in the course of the negotiations between the current Syrian Government and those dissident Syrian groups that have not been engaged in the course of the terrorist activities in that country."
"The representatives of Syrian nation from different walks of life and those who have not committed murder can be members of the national reconciliation government and presently a number of the opponents of the Syrian Government are cabinet members in that country, and thus a part of the required conditions for holding the parliamentary and presidential elections in Syria are already met", he added.
Amir-Abdollahian noted that the main precondition for holding the free and fair elections in Syria, like everywhere else, is ensuring the calm conditions for holding them, further reiterating, "In order to reach that end it is necessary to end the aggressions there and we believe in establishment of peace and stability in Syria the United Nations can play an important role."
"Today the terrorist groups have broad-scale activities in Syria, their notorious acts have created serious threat against the entire Syrian nation, and both the Syrian Government and its non-terrorist opponent groups are seriously opposed to that threat", he added.
Remind, that Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of security personnel, have been killed in the violence.
