S. Sargsyan: "If Turks ratified the Protocols, everything would now be different"
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan gave an interview to CNN Turk.
“We have not chosen for Turks and Armenians to be neighbors in this region. If Turks ratified the Protocols, everything would now be different,” Sargsyan said.
He noted that the withdrawal of the protocols from the parliament was a political message to Turkey.
“We did not withdraw the signature: if Turkey confirms, we will do so too,” he said.
The Armenian leader also commented on Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu’s message concerning the events of 1915. “The message was addressed to the international community. I hope president [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan will make a stronger declaration, and the relations will be normalized,” he said.
