US State Department condemns Turkish authorities’ actions against opposition media
The US State Department has expressed concern over recent developments that undermine press freedom in Turkey, reports "Armenpress," citing US State Department’s spokesman John Kirby's words during the daily briefing.
"I think all this is just another example of undue pressure on journalism in Turkey.
We are again concerned over a superintendent appointment by the governmental authorities to intervene in the affairs of media editorial.
It implies no changes in the media room or editorial policy by the court’s decision.
We again urge the Turkish government to fully respect the process in frames of law" said Kirby.
